EMDR Therapy for Anxiety in New York *

I offer EMDR therapy to women throughout New York via secure teletherapy. Working online allows for consistency, flexibility and care that fits into real life, without sacrificing depth or connection

You’ve tried so much and you’re still not where you want to be.

You’re ready to stop waiting for relief and start feeling more grounded in your life

On the outside you have it all together

Your mind is always scanning for signs that you’ve upset someone.

You replay conversations and meetings, wondering if you said the wrong thing. Relaxing feels hard, you’re always on, always anticipating. You say “yes” even when your body clearly says “no.”

Even after doing all the “right” things to manage anxiety, you may still feel burnt out, depleted, and stuck.

As an EMDR therapist in New York, I help women gently process what their nervous system has been carrying. The goal is to feel calmer, grounded, and more connected to yourself.

I can help you reconnect to yourself again

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with advanced training in EMDR.

I work with women who function well outwardly but feel unsettled, stuck, and overwhelmed. With a decade of clinical experience, I help clients make sense of their inner world and move toward change in a way that feels steady and realistic. My work is grounded in whole-body awareness, acceptance, and respect.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that your responses make sense given what you’ve lived through. I don’t see your patterns or behaviors as flaws, they are signs of a system doing its best to keep you safe.

Outside of my clinical work, I value slowing down, being present with my family, and creating space for reflection. These values shape how I show up in therapy: grounded, attuned, and deeply respectful of your process.

Hi, I’m Lisa

Who I work with

Therapy for women who appear to have it all together but feel overwhelmed inside.

I work with women across New York State who are capable and deeply self-aware.

Yet internally, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Many have tried therapy before but still find themselves stuck in patterns that insight alone can’t shift.

EMDR therapy is for women ready for change that feels embodied, grounded, and lasting, not forced.

Specialities

You don’t have to hold it all together here

clarity begins with a conversation

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process experiences that continue to affect you in the present. Instead of only talking about symptoms, EMDR works with how memories are stored in the brain and body. As a result, experiences feel less intense and become easier to integrate over time.

  • While EMDR therapy is central to my practice, I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I integrate EMDR with trauma-informed therapy, nervous system regulation, and somatic techniques to support your unique needs. Some sessions focus on processing anxiety or past experiences, while others emphasize grounding, insight, and emotional stabilization.

  • No. You don’t need a single traumatic event to benefit from EMDR therapy. Anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and chronic overwhelm often develop from repeated stress or emotionally demanding experiences over time. Because of this, EMDR therapy can help process these patterns, even when there isn’t a clear or obvious trauma.

  • No. EMDR therapy does not require you to share every detail of your experiences. Instead, we move at a pace that feels manageable, and you remain in control of what you choose to share. Throughout the process, safety, consent, and collaboration are central to our work together.

  • Yes. Many people seek EMDR therapy for anxiety, especially when anxiety is connected to past experiences, chronic stress, or relational patterns. EMDR helps the brain process these experiences, which can reduce emotional reactivity and support a greater sense of calm, even when anxiety has been present for a long time.
